Kerri Colby’s Gender Affirmation Surgery Story

Colby had been open about her transition before she appeared in RuPaul’s Drag Race. During one of the episodes, Colby shared her story to judge Michelle Visage on how her parents kicked her out of the house at age 15 and the toxic environment her parents created when they came to know about her gender identity.

After she left her house, she couch-surfed in her friends’ houses or slept in the train stations for two years. She was in abusive situations when she crashed into other people’s homes.

She knew she was different from a young age and was never ashamed. Instead loved her new identity. Colby started transitioning surgery at the start of the pandemic, and she has recorded her transitioning story on her Instagram highlights.

Kerri Colby’s Net Worth

There is no authentic information about Colby’s net worth on the internet. If she had won season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, she would have won $100,000 as a cash prize with a year’s worth of Anastasia Beverly Hills makeup.

She lip-synced to Jennifer Lopez’s Play during the show’s fourth episode and came last while competing against Alyssa Hunter. She again ranked last on episode 8 with Jasmine Kennedie and failed the lip-sync to Toni Braxton’s Un-Break My Heart.

At the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, she was a featured performer in Jennifer Lopez’s performance. Along with drag queens Daya Betty and Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté, she was nominated for a 2022 WOWIE Award for Best Viral Moment (The America’s Next Top Meme Award) in May at RuPaul’s DragCon in Los Angeles.

Kerri Colby’s Journey In RuPaul’s Drag Race

During an interview, Colby stated that she feels proud of herself and could lose a little against her own judgments and insecurities. She thought she acted like a fool, but she is glad for acting like a clown because she was able to showcase not just who she is but what she represents entirely.

Colby explained they didn’t just perform art on the show. They had to choreograph, compete and create a good performance so they would not get eliminated, which was nerve-wracking.

Episode four of the show was epic when she wore JLo’s runway dress from Versace that she modeled during Milan Fashion Week in 2019.

When Jasmine came out on the show, she stated that she felt inspired because of Colby and the example she has set in the Transgender community. Season 14 showcased a diverse cast as they had straight and transgender drag queens.

Colby hopes that the transgender representation in the show helps to inspire people.
