Blackwater Mill Residential Care Home on the outskirts of Newport is asking for a little help from Islanders in making a resident’s 105th birthday extra special.
On 17th September, Joan is going to be turning 105 so the team at Blackwater Mill want to make the day as special as possible.
Sadly, having been born way back in 1917, Joan has outlived most of her friends and doesn’t have any family. With this in mind, Islanders are being asked to send in a birthday card – and it’s hoped that Joan will receive as many as possible ready for her big day on Saturday 17th.
Debbie Webb, activity coordinator at Blackwater Mill, says:
“Joan is a wonderful lady and she deserves the best day possible. We know that the Isle of Wight community spirit is amazing and hopefully the community will all get involved and help us to create a fabulous day for a fabulous lady”.
Cards can be sent to Joan, Blackwater Mill Residential Care Home, Blackwater Hollow, Isle of Wight, PO30 3BJ.
